I met Sara and her family a few short years ago while photographing her sister Erin’s wedding, and was thrilled when they called and were interested in working with us again! I had an incredible time getting to know Michael + Sara at their engagement session. I loved seeing them interact, and simply enjoy being together. These two were great in front of the camera, and it was a bit refreshing to have to ask “would you guys mind to stop kissing for a sec, so that we can take some pictures of your faces…”
The wedding was great in so many ways — from the people involved, to the fun details and such, which were mostly created at the hands of Sara and her mother Brenda. Probably the most interesting part was the band: the Hackensaw Boys, a talented bunch of ‘pickers’ from Virginia whose bluegrass (or newgrass) sound was fun and unique.
Here are some of my favorite shots, and don’t forget to register at Pictage to see all of the images when they’re ready.
Especially…don’t miss out on their SLIDESHOW! This one is interesting, not only because of the photographs, but I’m excited to say that the music behind the slideshow is a song from a new album, a duo with Tammy Rochelle and my brother Joseph! This song is called “I Want You” and seems to fit the bride and groom in both style and substance! If you like what you hear, their record is still needing support through Kickstarter, so check it out!

p.s.: to the photography enthusiasts out there…see if you can pick out the film shots. I dug out my ‘vintage’ film EOS camera for some photos (there are 6 included in the blog post…)
