Boutique Couture | vendor spotlight {Happy 9 years!}

We have been photographing weddings in this area for over a decade, and I have had the pleasure to meet so many great people who work alongside of us in the industry. Sometimes, it might just be a “hello” in passing on a wedding day, or seeing someone briefly at a bridal show, etc. I realized that I might know the work of a florist, or the distinctive flavor of a caterer, but I didn’t really know the people behind the scenes. So, I’ve started reaching out to some of my favorite vendors in the area, and have begun photographing and interviewing them. I’d like to give potential brides a great behind-the-scenes look at the wedding professionals in the area, and the amazing work that they do. This is the first installment of a large series of spotlights!

Fittingly, I’m publishing this on the 9th Anniversary of Boutique Couture!

We’ve had the amazing privilege of getting to know Emily, and working with Boutique Couture countless times over the past 9 years. She is a great friend, and an amazing businesswoman. It’s been cool to watch her carve out a niche for herself and her brand in the style realm.

How would you describe yourself?

I would describe myself as creative and energetic

What inspires you?

Talking with other creative people inspires me most. Getting together and playing off ideas …and doing them! For my style inspiration, it could be nature or a magazine or even a song!

What sets you apart from your competition?

I think that our atmosphere and people set us apart. I’ve always wanted a classy, comfortable place for my customers to shop. Hopefully it feels elegant, yet relaxing to shop with us.

How long have you been in business?

9 years today! I started the business when I was 27 years old in the Fall of 2006

What do you love the most about Chattanooga?

I love all of the outdoor activities, as well as the growing culture – food, shopping, and fun

What is your favorite aspect of a your job?

I love styling people and making them realize their beauty. Helping someone pick that special dress that makes them feel confident and beautiful is the best feeling!

Do you have any advice you’d like to give engaged couples?

Realize that there is a marriage after the wedding! Things will go wrong. Things will go right…but in the end, you will still have each other. Make sure to value each other through the whole process. Family dynamics can be difficult to navigate together…but just focus on your future together as a couple.
