Monica’s Bridal | vendor spotlight

We have been photographing weddings in this area for over a decade, and I have had the pleasure to meet so many great people who work alongside of us in the industry. Sometimes, it might just be a “hello” in passing on a wedding day, or seeing someone briefly at a bridal show, etc. I realized that I might know the work of a florist, or the distinctive flavor of a caterer, but I didn’t really know the people behind the scenes. So, I’ve started reaching out to some of my favorite vendors in the area, and have begun photographing and interviewing them. I’d like to give potential brides a great behind-the-scenes look at the wedding professionals in the area, and the amazing work that they do. This is the ninth installment of a large series of spotlights!

How would you describe yourself (and/or your business)?

We are two girls who grew up in the bridal business and are now having the time of our lives making it our own. We are down to earth, we would like to think we’re funny, and we focus on making a bride feel amazing on the biggest day of her life. Our goal is to make finding the perfect gown easy, fun and take as much stress off of that process for the bride as possible.

Could you characterize your style in three words?

Allie- chic, classic, but daring.

Stephanie- traditional, timeless, simple

How long have you been in business?

Monica’s has been in business since 1975. Monica herself was just telling us she couldn’t believe it’s been over 40 years! She’s stops in from time to time and it’s always great to see her- she always has a story to tell. Stephanie and I have been either working here or hanging around for the past 18 years (yes we are that old!), so you know we mean it when we say we grew up here!

What sets you apart from your competition?

We do our very best to make choosing your wedding dress an experience, versus something you just have to check off your list. Every bride deserves to feel beautiful, and every bride has a different vision of her “big day.” We train our staff to listen to what a girl wants, help her step out of her comfort zone when necessary and bring her vision of herself to life. We truly are full service- meaning we start the process with our brides and follow them all the way through alterations to make sure they feel comfortable and happy in their gowns, and that they know how to navigate in them on the big day! We would always like to think we have the best dresses in town, but in reality if a girl finds the dress of her dreams somewhere else- that’s OK. Though our ultimate goal is to sell every bride who walks through the door, her being happy is still the most important thing.

monicas2Do you have any advice you’d like to give engaged couples?

Listen to yourselves- not everyone else. Yes, it is important not to be a bridezilla and not to put your bridesmaids in $1000 dresses that they hate. And it is important to make the groom’s mom and all of your cousins feel included- but not to the detriment of what you two want for your wedding. If you love seafoam green, then too bad if your cousin doesn’t like it- she can wear it or sit in the audience! If you want cheesecake and not a wedding cake, get a cheesecake! You’re the only person who will ever know a decision was Plan B and not Plan A. If you have to go with Plan B, just roll with it. Take people at their word when they say, “It’s your day,” because it is! And of course, never lose sight of the fact that at the end of the day, you two will be married- and that’s why we’re doing all of this to begin with. So don’t sweat the ribbon color on your flowers too much.

What do you love the most about Chattanooga?

We love that it’s such a small, big town! We love that everyone is proud of our town and you can’t find sweeter people anywhere. The people in Chattanooga are second to none- they’re always doing something new, or inventing a great new product or business concept. What other town can you say that about? Oh! And of course all these amazing restaurants that have come along in the past 6 or 7 years. Super terrible for our waistlines, but super yummy!

What inspires you?

Real women, being bosses! In fact, a better way for us to describe our inspiration is to say who. Monica’s previous owner, Dolores Murphy, and previous seamstress, Cindy Moore, taught us that women can do anything they love as long as they always see the value in what they’re doing. These two women taught us more lessons than we can count. That, along with the mentoring from Steve Murphy (previous owner), gave us the courage and guidance to be where we are today. We know so many women who own businesses in this town- and they absolutely rock it out. And it inspires us even more when we can be cheerleaders for each  other.

What is your favorite aspect of a wedding?

The bride’s gown- obviously! Seeing over 400 brides go out the door with the gowns of the dreams each year teaches you a thing or two. If a bride feels amazing, it shows. Also, we love seeing a groom’s reaction to his bride- it makes us cry every time!

    Matt + Rachel | anniversary

We are so excited to be able to offer our couples anniversary sessions! It is such a great way to continue the relationship we have with our couples, but also to give you tangible images that remind you of your beginning.  So, here is our first installment of the anniversary sessions.

How long have you been married?

It will be 4 yrs in November!

    001_mucciolo_0017009_mucciolo_0060007_mucciolo_0052

When did you know he/she was the one?

When he first met my family – also seeing him around his own family. We both come from large extended families and we love to get together with them.

    008_mucciolo_1018_mucciolo_0107

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Matt tear-up as I was walking in. The reception was really fun too – having all of our close friends and family together in one room is a rare and special experience so we made sure to stop and soak it in.

    015_mucciolo_0125

Looking back, would you do anything differently on your wedding day?

Not really, I’m a pretty laid back person so I wasn’t stressed about details or any of that. Only thing I would change is maybe to start the wedding an hour earlier for two reasons – 1. I forgot we would be low on day time lighting for pictures because the time had just changed like the weekend before or something like that. Also, so we could have more time to dance at the reception. It really does go by so fast!

    016_mucciolo_0135020_mucciolo_0113021_mucciolo_0118

What do you feel is the most important thing you learned since getting married?

Make sure you take the time to appreciate each other, even the little things can go a long way. Always continue to “date” each other and spend time together outside of friends and family.

012_mucciolo_0076013_mucciolo_What do you like to do together?

We love to hang out with our friends and family. We also enjoy walking from our house and across the bridge and seeing what’s going on downtown on the weekends. We also like to just catch up Netflix and snuggle with our dogs.

What is your best marriage advice? What is the secret to your marriage?

Over the past year, we have dealt with some unexpected tragedies and loss of loved ones. We also have another close friend going through brain cancer.  It has made me realize life is so precious and we should all take each day as a blessing. Fighting over silly things seems like such a waste of time in the scheme of things. Lately, when we disagree on something we kind of step back and laugh at the fact we are arguing over “who emptied the dishwasher or took out the trash last.” Those things seems so minuet to what others might be dealing with. I would say my advice is to try to laugh off the little things and appreciate your time as a couple on this precious time we have on earth. Remember there is no such thing as a perfect marriage and it’s the way you overcome a disagreement that makes you as a couple stronger. Remember, in every argument that there won’t be a “winner” and a “loser.” You are partners in everything so you’ll either win together or lose together. Try to find a solution together!

On a lighter note – Try to “tag team” everything together. Always remember to stay close to God, family, and friends. Never fall out of love! My favorite biblical quote that was read at our wedding, – “Love is patient, love is kind……Love never fails! That’s a shortened version but it’s the best marriage advice in my opinion.

      Jenni + Andrew | engaged

We can’t wait to be a part of Jennifer & Andrew’s wedding. Here’s their story, in their own words.

Where did you meet your fiancé?

Jenni: We met online! Andrew was my first match, and he got matched to me the day he was about to cancel his account on eHarmony.

      Andrew: We met on eHarmony.

      What was your first date?

Jenni: We talked online for almost two months before meeting in person. When we finally did meet, Andrew came to visit me in Nashville. We went to my favorite pizza place, and played ping pong.

Andrew: Our first date was a voice call on Skype.

Was it love at first sight?

Jenni: I would say no, because we video called over Skype for so long before even meeting in person. But when we did finally meet, the first thing I did was give him a hug – and it was definitely love at first hug!

Andrew: It wasn’t for me. Falling in love with Jenni happened quickly but not instantaneously. Every day I feel like I love her more than the day before.

Favorite part of a wedding day?

Jenni: Getting to commit to spend my life with my best friend!

Andrew: My favorite part of a wedding is watching people in love commit to one another.

What are two of your favorite qualities about each other?

Jenni: I love how calm Andrew is. He always knows how to calm me down when I’m stressed or upset. I also love his goofy side!

Andrew: I am most mesmerized by her intelligence and creativity.

We’d love to know more about your wedding plans, especially what you’re doing to make your wedding special or unique for you.

      A. Jenni: We both love ping pong, so we are renting a ping pong table for our reception! I’m really excited for us to go head to head as bride and groom. 🙂 We also decided to have gelato catered by Milk & Honey instead of cake – I have loved Milk & Honey since they opened, and it’s a little more “us.” Plus you can’t go wrong gelato in July! We’re also taking ballroom dance lessons for our first dance. I’ve been ballroom dancing since high school, and love getting to dance with the love of my life.

Andrew: My part in the wedding planning is minimal as Jenni has a clear idea of what she wants. My ideal wedding involves her being happy; If she’s happy, then I am too.

      Kevin + Alli | married

We recently photographed an amazing wedding in Nashville, and had a great time simply being a part of it all. We loved getting to know Kevin and Alli! Here they are, in their own words!

Where did you meet your fiancé?

Playing soccer on a coed team in Chicago

Was it love at first sight?

Honestly, no. We were friends for about a year before we started dating.

      Favorite thing about the South?

We love the laid back atmosphere and could see ourselves moving there one day…probably soon. Oh, and we both love country music. And the food!

Favorite part of a wedding day?

      The celebration and dancing!

What makes your wedding special or unique for you?

We really wanted the weekend to be a celebration and fun for our huge families and friends. That’s why we chose downtown Nashville and had several events throughout the weekend. The officiant was a family friend, we had several family members as part of the ceremony and reception, we had Chicago style hot dogs as a late night snack. Alli carried a handkerchief given by her deceased grandmother.

        Let them eat cake

It’s no secret that John and I love cake! For our own wedding, it was the one of our top priorities. We wanted the cake to not only look pretty, but taste amazing! We’ve seen a lot of wedding cakes over the years but these are a few that stood out among the rest.

        Dessert Designs by Leland

The bride had her cake bakery selected before she even met her groom…and what a cake it was! A 5 Tiered cake with sugar flowers made quite a statement.

From the Bride: This is the only thing that I have ever really known about my wedding since I was a kid. It is sure to be one of the most amazing cakes you have ever seen and it tastes just as good as it looks.

        088_djb_fitzgerald_0009 2

        Cup-A-Dee Cakes

The couple chose a custom Art-Deco style for their wedding cake coupling modern architecture with southern tradition overlooking the Tennessee River.

        074_djb_hurley_0022

        Sweet Eats Bakery

From the Baker, Jennifer: The gorgeous floral cake was a classic with a twist, Vanilla Cake and Vanilla Sweet Cream Buttercream icing. This cake has more of a modern structure while remaining simple and stunning. A large barrel bottom tier with a single layer middle tier and double layer top tier. The cake has more of a spackled texture icing except for the middle tier which was pearled icing design. I used a linen look ribbon to finish off the edges and what really makes the design is the arrangement of the pink hues in the flowers and the different greenery.

        005_cityscope_cakec

        Couture Cakes

From the Bride: “The custom cakes were from Couture Cakes and Confections and were pieces of art but equally delicious. The bride’s cake was a multi-tiered amaretto flavored cake with raspberry interlaced throughout, butter cream icing and designed with a combination of lace icing to replicate my gown and had our new family crest and included a touch of nature with sugar-poured, hand designed leaves. The groom’s cake was inspired by his alma mater, the University of Mississippi, with the “Walk of Champions” and “The Grove” famous for its football tailgates. Couture Cakes incorporated Brent’s favorite tailgating treats, all edible cake, under the tent — George Dickel Whiskey, Wise Acre Beer, and Corn Dogs.”

        Frosted Pumpkin

Celebrating 77 combined years of marriage.

From the Bride: Instead of just placing pictures of our parents on their wedding day at the reception, I wanted to make small replicas of their wedding cakes to display next to our wedding cake. I LOVE the way it turned out! I sent the pictures of their cakes to Frosted Pumpkin and he nailed it. We put pictures of them cutting their cakes next to their replica cakes. It was a big hit! Together, our parents have been married for over 77 years, and we thought this was a special way to honor them at our wedding.

        B’s Sweets

From the Bride:Our cake was Italian Cream since we were had Italian food, and it’s one of our favorite flavors! I knew I wanted a smooth texture and butter cream icing, not fondant, because I wanted the sparkle to really be the focal point. I wanted the bride’s cake to be topped with my Miss Tennessee 2009 crown. The crown symbolized a time in my life when I was able to serve the state of Tennessee on behalf of Governor Bredeson’s Character Education Program, meet incredible and new people everyday, and be a voice for Ronald McDonald House Charities. That year brought countless blessings, allowed me to continue my education through the scholarship earnings, and opened many doors for me personally and professionally. Most of the people in attendance at our wedding were a part of my journey that year, and I couldn’t have done it without their endless love and support!

We cut the cake with Kevin’s Officer Saber, which is a military wedding tradition that we always wanted to incorporate into our reception. So many aspects of the day and the details were unique to us and the things that are a special part of our lives.

        Sweet Eats

This gorgeous cake designed by Jennifer Hooper at Sweet Eats Bakery is a butter cream spice cake. More from Jennifer:  I love the simplicity of this cake. For the naked cake design, the cake flavor was Spiced Cake with cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Brown Sugar Buttercream icing topped with fresh Mission Figs. As I was making this cake I really thought it was the best of both worlds for icing lovers and cake lovers. Just enough of each to make everyone smile! It’s very simple, but makes a bold statement and because of this aspect it remains one of the most popular designs people request for weddings to date. There is something so perfect about a naked cake.

        Momofuku Milk Bar

The cake was from Momofuku Milk Bar, one of our favorite bakeries in New York and a nod to our current home. An ice cream cake is perfect for a summer wedding!

        0150_djb_burkswedding_film_0756

        Magpies

This cake has long been one of our absolute favorites. Classic vanilla buttercake filled with vanilla buttercream wrapped & finished in smooth Swiss buttercream. Gorgeous fondant with a simple white and green color scheme make this cake stand out. It has beautiful symmetry and a timeless style.

        0052_djb_gadd_1001453

        Cakes by Megan

From the Bride: “Our cake was buttercream with mixed berries. Since we served a heavier entree, Jordan and I wanted to have a lighter cake. Strawberries are my favorite fruit and also represent a huge piece of home to me (thanks to the Strawberry Festival!) so I wanted to make sure they were included in the mixed berry filling. My mammaw, my mother’s mom, passed away when I was in college, and she always used to make strawberry shortcake for family gatherings. I often make and serve her recipe when we entertain at our home, so having strawberries in the cake was also a subtle way to honor her memory.

Jordan’s mother was so gracious to take care of our cake, so we made tastings a family affair. His mother and grandmother drove down from Pennyslvania to join Jordan and me in sampling MANY cakes. It was one of my favorite parts of wedding planning because I loved spending that time with our family and making the decision together.

I knew I wanted a large bow and a simple, Kate Spade-inspired design. I told Megan what I envisioned and she sketched out the design right then – we were blown away! My wedding shoes were Kate Spade and – it sounds silly now – many of the design elements of our wedding day were inspired by my shoes. Our wedding planner suggested a rosegold sparkly cake table linen to match the shoes and compliment our cake, and we were so pleased with how it turned out.”

        1323_djb_haverly_film_0119

        The Bake Shoppe

Matt’s favorite cake flavor is strawberry with cream cheese icing, and that was one of his few requests when it came to wedding planning!  We wanted a cake that was not too fussy and did not require fondant.  We looked for something that could be made pretty with cream cheese icing and could incorporate lots of fresh flowers, which I love.  We liked the simple petaled icing pattern and the stacks of flowers in between.  The pink color of the strawberry cake happened to go along with the wedding colors too!  The Bake Shoppe did a wonderful job with the cake, and Fresh by CarryAnn added the flowers to it.

        039_djb_schermerhorn_9925

        Gabriel’s Bakery

From the Bride: The cake was a strawberry cake from a bakery in Marietta Georgia – Gabriel’s.  Will and I both love Gabriel’s strawberry cake and growing up my family always had it for special occasions. I also wanted to include a silhouette of my dog, Wally because he is such a big part of our life together! Will gave him to me the Christmas before we got engaged and then used him when he proposed later that year.

          Hasselblad 501c | camera review

These days, every few months it seems that there are new cameras released, each incrementally “raising the bar” of digital imaging a step further, while slowly driving past cameras into obsolescence. Just last month, Nikon announced a camera with ISO capabilities over 3 million, and Phase One announced an amazing digital back sensor that photographs at an astounding 100 megapixels.

It is refreshing to know that there are cameras still capable of standing the test of time. It is my hope to make images that can follow suit.

I distinctly remember while studying at ERBA d’Angers (an Art school in Angers, France) in undergrad in 2000, as a kind professor with an amazing handlebar mustache showed me the ropes on how to use a Hasselblad 500c. As I watched him familiarly select shutter speeds and apertures (simultaneously wondering how the mustache was so perfectly formed) he mentioned something that was astounding. It was so crazy that I thought it was ‘lost in translation’ from French to English. But, no…it wasn’t. He said: “this is the camera that I learned on when I went to school here.” At first I thought that he was saying he had also learned on a Hasselblad. Actually, he meant that about 25 years before that, he had photographed with the exact same camera. Like I said, this camera has the ability to stand the test of time!

In the meantime, I hope that Hasselblad has a bright future as well. I eagerly listened to an interview on Luminous Landscape with Hasselblad’s CEO, who certainly gave out some tidbits of hope for the future, and fixing the strange things that the company did in the last decade. I’m going to be saving up for products that are still in development!

I contacted a local photographer, whose business pre-dates color film photography, saying that I was interested in shooting a ‘Blad, and asking if I could borrow one for a bit. He has four of them, and was very kind to let me borrow a couple! I also realized that there was a decent chance I might be using a camera with significant historical value to my family. The same camera I borrowed is the very one that photographed the wedding of my wife Lindsey’s parents, a mere 38 years ago! So, I decided to put it through the paces!
          001_hassy_0003330

The following shots are actually on good, old film. Expired film, at that…so I over-exposed by a stop, and crossed my fingers! Looking back, I should have tried to find some faster film, as I was struggling to attain shutter speeds fast enough to combat the mirror shake…but that’s another story. These photographs are from Thanksgiving and Christmas, with locations ranging from our backyard in Tennessee, to a fantastic time with family in Folly Beach, SC.

          022_hassy_0023

My brother, watching over the turkey we smoked. Notice the black frame on the left side; Hasselblads leave a distinctive pair of notches.

          024_hassy_0034

So, a Hasselblad isn’t necessarily a sports/action camera. I was lucky to get this one in focus!

The Hunter Museum | vendor spotlight

The Hunter Museum. I guess its full name is: The Hunter Museum of American Art. I want to be proper about this! The Hunter is an icon of the entire downtown of Chattanooga, readily visible from each of the downtown bridges. Its regal mansion stands as a great homage to the past, and the modern addition points the city gracefully toward the future. As far as weddings go, there are at least 5 different places within the museum that we’ve photographed weddings, each one with a different backdrop. The views from the Hunter over the Tennessee River and towards the North Shore are unparalleled, particularly at sunset.

But that’s the brick and mortar. Another important aspect of a venue are the people that manage it. They are the ones who help to make it happen. It’s not only John Post and Katie Fuller, who manage and coordinate special events, but there’s an entire team to back them up; from parking to security.

We have had a blast being able to photograph at the Hunter Museum of American Art since our first experience there on 7/7/07 at a fun wedding that I remember quite well. Through the years, it’s been great to get to know the management and staff there, who do a phenomenal job at welcoming guests into this fabulous location. They have helped us keep back hordes of prom paparazzi from the mansion steps as we photographed a bride and groom (who had rented the place, and had the right to be there), and worked with us on many special shoots in the off season: from magazine covers to bridal sessions.

Katie answered the questions on behalf of the Hunter.

            How would you describe yourself?

The Museum is a wonderful place not just to have an event, but for a wonderful place to view the art. The view is breathtaking! The venue is a great blank space — you can make it your own from what you see is what you get to ornate lighting and draping!

Could you characterize your style in three words?

            Simple, laid back.

What sets you apart from your competition?

The view! The view and the awesome Museum.

What do you love the most about Chattanooga?

I love Chattanooga for its small town feel. Since moving here in 2003, I feel like every time I go out somewhere to run errands, or to go to the park, even to the grocery store, I feel like I see someone I have met and know!

            What inspires you?

Genuinely nice people inspire me. They remind me to do the same unto others.

What is your favorite aspect of a wedding?

My favorite part is watching the eyes of the bride and groom light up as they enter the room full of their favorite people that have gathered to celebrate their love for each other.

What advice do you have for engaged couples?

I would say that the Big Day is a long day, remember to have fun and know that everyone you love and care about is there with you to celebrate!0139_djb_hoback_1424 1030_djb_jenkins_2310

            Alexa + Max | engaged

I had an incredible time getting to know Alexa + Max at their recent engagement session. They are such an incredible couple, and the joy that they share with one another was fun to capture! Lindsey and I can’t wait to be there on the big day this Fall as they get married! Here is this sweet couple, in their own words:

            Where did you meet?

We met  during our freshman year of college through Max’s cousin, Abbie, who happens to be one of Alexa’s best friends. She introduced us in the freshman dormitory cafeteria at Indiana University.

            Where did you get engaged?

On the bridge overlooking the Chicago skyline and the Lincoln Park Zoo. Max had rose petals spread out all over an area of the bridge and proposed there at night. Then, as a friend of Alexa’s was photographing the moment, both of our families popped out!

What’s a fun date for you?

We like to travel and try new restaurants…we are big foodies!

Was it love at first sight?

Although we became friendly after meeting, it wasn’t until the end of sophomore year that we began dating. We went as dates to each other’s formals and the rest is history!

What are two of your favorite qualities about each other?

Alexa loves how Max is fun-loving, jokes around all of the time, and lights up a room!
Max loves Alexa’s silly, yet caring personality and her ability to put a smile on anyone’s face!

Favorite part of a wedding day?

Seeing each other for the first time that day!

            Favorite Southern City?

            Nashville (of course!)

              The Farm | vendor spotlight

So here’s another installment of a large series of spotlights!

We first met Dixie and Lee Bagley of The Farm a few years ago at Lee’s brother Ben’s wedding in Rome, GA, and have enjoyed getting to know them while working alongside them at many weddings. They are both amazing people with great hearts, and run a beautiful venue that has character in spades. I feel like it could easily be the set for a movie.

              How would you describe yourself?

The Farm is a privately owned estate in Northwest Georgia. My husband and I purchased the farm in 2009 with the intention of remodeling the barn and turning it into our home. (Lee is a builder and I like to find things for him to remodel????), While working on the remodel, a good friend of ours died and his son was going to propose that night. Needless to say, he did not. So several months later I told the son I would just do his wedding here at The Farm, and we could all work together to make it happen. We did, and that started the weddings…so I guess you could say that Lee and I are both doers! We like to do things, problem solve, and share what we have with others, providing things that bring happiness. We treat everyone like family, and like to be treated the same. People come from all over the US to stay here, and the one thing that I hear people say the most is, “so this is what southern hospitality is…I like it!” That is what we are all about.

Could you characterize your style in three words?

              Classic, laid-back, fun

What do you love the most about Chattanooga?

I love everything about Chattanooga! Chattanooga has a been has been a part of my life since I was a child. I would go up there every year to the Choo-Choo, and Rock City and later, to the Aquarium. Chattanooga is an hour north of me, and I go there to do all of my shopping and hanging out, as opposed to going to Atlanta. It feels so small and intimate, even though its not small at all! Chattanooga has so much character, we often say that we could move up there, we’d do it in a heartbeat! If I could figure out how to move The Farm up there that would be even better! Not to mention…some of my favorite vendors are there!! Chattanooga definitely has my heart.

              What inspires you?

Happiness. Happy people. Being able to provide something for people that brings happiness to others inspires me, whether it’s a hug, or taking a walk, a wedding, working, some sweets or cooking for other people. It doesn’t matter: just to be able to do something that brings a smile to someone’s face makes me happy and inspires me to do better.

What sets you apart from your competition?

Wow! There are a lot of barn/ Farm venues out there, and they are all unique. We are different, because we operate as a destination venue. We only do 1 event per week, so you have the venue for the weekend, we also have 7 guest cottages on site, and sleep a total of 40, so we typically have the wedding party and immediate family staying on site Thursday – Sunday, which is really nice for our families. They get to have a family reunion, vacation, and wedding all together. It makes for a great experience, with lots of love , fun and a lot of good bye tears on Sunday. It just makes our couples wedding day even more memorable because they get to spend quality time with their loved ones.

What is your favorite aspect of or your job?

The people I meet. I have met so many wonderful people over the past six years that have touched my life and I’m so fortunate that I’ve been a part of their lives as well. It’s not something that I will never forget, and it’s really been a blessing. I talk to at least one person from one of our past weddings almost every day, and it’s great to be able to stay in touch with them. We spend a lot of time with our couples and their families, it’s a relationship on our end as well, as they are special part of our lives.

Do you have any advice you’d like to give engaged couples?

Take care of each other, listen to each other, be best friends and be mindful of each other’s feelings always. Don’t forget why you got engaged that it is about the love between the two of them and not the hoopla of having a big wedding and what everyone else thinks you should do or shouldn’t do or what colors you should pick it’s about the love between you two and the experience of taking those vows to promise to be husband-and-wife to one another. Do not let everyone else and their opinions get in the way of your love for one another.
