We had an incredible time at Chad + Melanie’s wedding. Here they are, in their own words!

Where did you meet your fiancé?

At Chili’s restaurant. I was waitressing at Chili’s to get through nursing school and Chad came in on his work break for lunch. He reached out to me after Chili’s which led to our first date.

Where did you get engaged?

We got engaged one evening on the beach in Destin, Florida. We were on vacation with a small group of friends and Chad surprised me with a romantic private beach proposal after dinner one evening.

Favorite thing about the South? If you don’t live in the South, then what do you know of the South?

The 4 seasons. We love the fall and Tennessee football. We love the (mostly) mild winter, the sweet summertime river fun, and the beautiful spring flowers and trees that make Tennessee so gorgeous. And we love our sweet tea!

Favorite part of a wedding day?

All the excitement right before and after the ceremony. And of course the reception is the most fun part!

What are two of your favorite qualities about each other?

Chad has always said how much he respects my ambition and drive in my career and studies, and how I take the time to do sweet and meaningful things! I also respect his work ambition and how he takes the lead in our relationship in the ways a man should. We are both very social and outgoing and I think those qualities attracted us to each other as well.

What made your wedding special or unique for you?

Our wedding day was glorious! We spent a lot of time and effort to create a dream wedding and it truly was. We wanted to keep the Patten Chapel classic to keep the focus on the ceremony message and the marriage itself. As a girly girl I wanted the Hunter Museum to be glittery and bright, and our wedding vendors really knocked it out of the park. A special touch that we added was a slide show to celebrate the health of Chad’s father after battling a fatal virus in his heart and surviving a heart transplant for 10+ years. Everything was so perfect and special.
